Herb Day Fair and Chef Mayra's Essential Oils Recipe's

The 2nd Annual Herb Day Fair, which is dedicated to informing everyone interested about the “Health and Wellness Benefits” and the Healing properties of Natures Gifts, was held this year on October 2nd at the St. Rose Dominican Hospital in SW Las Vegas.
We wanted to begin this newsletter by thanking them for all their help and efforts in promoting and allowing this event to be held there!
It was a wonderful event with lots of information and classes to attend.
Also, Congratulations to Beth Briley who was the recipient of our Gift Tea package giveaway!
One of the Vendors at the event was Las Vegas' Very Own "Vegan Chef" Mayra, who this year did some cooking and handed out samples of some of her marvelous dishes and refreshments.
They were all done with our very own "The Center Of Power" Essential Oils! And well, they were Marvelous!
We ran out of recipe sheets while at the event and promised the many that were not able to get a copy that we would post the recipe's for them.
So the following are a few that she prepared at the event and a "bonus" recipe for everyone as well!
All We can say is Enjoy!
Cooking With Essential Oils from The Center Of Power
Essential oils are extremely potent and provide many benefits in both healing and therapy. Essential oils retain the entire essence of healing oxygenating molecules, nutrients, trace minerals, coenzyme A factors, amino acid precursors, hormones, vitamins and enzymes. Essential oils are filled with bountiful goodness - and you can use them in their form for cooking purposes.
Since the chemical structure in essential oils is similar to that of the cells and tissues in the human body, they are accepted by the body and are compatible with human proteins. Cooking with essential oils is therefore seen by many as safe and beneficial. They provide that extra energy, vigor, and health for the entire family – in addition to providing great taste to your means!
A Little Goes A Long Way
If you are using spice oils that are very strong, such as thyme, oregano, nutmeg, marjoram, cinnamon or basil, just dip a toothpick in the oil and stir it in the dish after it is cooked. This is an excellent way to add flavor to food. Cooking with essential oils is excellent as just a drop of it is equal to the goodness of a whole bottle of dried herbs.
Using Oils
Citrus oils such as tangerine, orange or lemon, should be added to the dish just before serving. This will ensure the oil does not evaporate and the dish retains the citrus flavor.
As you are cooking with essential oils such as rosemary, oregano and basil, you can add the oil as the dish is simmering. This adds a wonderfully exotic taste.
Safety
It is important to make sure the oils you are considering are safe for cooking. Therapeutic grade oils are usually safe for use in cooking, but be sure to check the product label.
Benefits of Using Essential Oils
The smell of essential oil is known to control and curb appetite. According to research, smell instigates taste. Using essential oils in cooking everyday and inhaling the vapors and smell on a consistent basis may also curb your appetite. The aroma from the essential oil switches off epistat nerve, which is the part in our brain responsible for hunger. Cooking with essential oils therefore may actually help you lose weight!
There are various interesting cookbooks available that details recipes you can make using essential oils.
Recipes can also be found on various websites on the internet. They tell you all about which oil can be used or what type of dishes.
